I’ve had a bit of a mad couple of weeks so I thought I’d join weeks 3 and 4 of my FODMAP journey together!
Halfway through the elimination phase and I’m slowly getting more and more used to what I can and can’t eat, still needing to google a lot and consult my Monash University app every two minutes (absolute lifesaver btw!) but I think I’m starting to get to grips with it all. Still eating pretty healthily, lots of fish, meat and vegetables and I’m actually losing a bit of weight too!
Some of the girls in the office are thinking about starting the FODMAP diet purely for this reason! Not sure this has been scientifically proven but each to their own! 😉
My main struggles with this at the moment are going out for dinner or getting a take away. I absolutely love going out for dinner and there’s nothing better than coming home after a long day at work and getting a takeaway! I’ll normally try anything, however with FODMAP you are crazily restricted! Without asking for a list of all ingredients in all dishes, you’re kind of screwed… So anytime I’ve gone out I’ve tried to stick to very plain things like meat, potatoes and veg (low FODMAP of course!) and no sauce (which for me is like torture!!!) but hopefully this will get easier when I know my exact triggers!
Tummy is definitely feeling better for it all though so very glad I took the plunge with this diet! Long may it continue!! 🙂
