The low FODMAP diet can be tricky and tiring when it comes to meal preparation and creativity as your food options are limited. When I was doing the diet myself, I found the hardest foods to avoid were onion and garlic as they seem to be in literally everything! Especially on those lazy days when you’re not in the mood for cooking but everything easy seems out of bounds.
As the low FODMAP diet is becoming more recognised, with even some of the large gluten free brands certifying their products as FODMAP friendly, some smaller companies are starting to offer diverse, FODMAP friendly products. One of whom is Bay’s Kitchen who has created a delicious range of low FODMAP sauces and I was very kindly gifted the range to try.

Sweet and sour stir-in sauce
Jalfrezi curry stir-in sauce
Such easy and yummy sauces to add to meat, veggies, tofu, whatever you fancy! With mine I made tomato and basil spaghetti, sweet and sour Quorn chicken with rice and a vegetable jalfrezi curry! I think my favourite of the three has to be the sweet and sour sauce! It used to be one of my staples from the Chinese takeaway but it’s been so long since I last had it. And this tastes EXACTLY the same!! SO fruity and good! The tomato and basil is an amazing staple and is full of tomatoey goodness! For curry lovers (myself included!), the jalfrezi is so tasty and curries are known for being full of onion and garlic so this one is a bit of a revelation!
Don’t just take my word for it! Bay’s Kitchen sauces are also winners at the Free From Food Awards 2019 with the sweet and sour taking silver and tomato and basil taking the gold!! Very well deserved and loving the FODMAP recognition in the industry!
